About IELTS
International English Language Testing System
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is a test for candidates who don’t speak English as their first language and want to study, train, or work where English is used. The acclaimed preparation centres in Greece offer specialised courses and you may plan ahead for achieving the best IELTS Test results for your goal.
IELTS is managed by the British Council.
Every year, more than 3 million people worldwide take the test. In Greece it is offered at least once a month.
- IELTS test checks your ability in Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, and gives scores for each plus an overall score.
- You can choose either the Academic version (for studies) or the General version (for work).
- You can choose to take it either on paper or on a computer.
- To take the IELTS test, you need to register online ahead of time.
- Paper test results come out in 12-13 days, while computer test results take 3-5 days.
- After you pay your exam fee, you will get a confirmation email in up to 3 days (maybe longer if you pay before the weekend). This is because the system checks your ID to make sure your details are right.
